Why did you choose Temple University’s DBMD program? What advantages does DBMD offer you over other graduate programs?
The DBMD program offers special opportunities for students from partner universities. It also offers an easier application process from beginning until the end. The whole team is incredibly supportive and gave me a lot of help and resources, making my journey much easier. The DBMD program also offers merit-based scholarships specifically for DBMD students.
How has studying abroad for your master’s degree enhanced your skills and experience?
I have more opportunities to grow my soft skills and knowledge, as well as to broaden my network. Temple provides students with many resources, from personal development and networking experiences, to future career opportunities.
What are your career plans?
I am planning to finish my degree in 1.5 years, while focusing my final semester on applying for OPT (Optional Practical Training) or an internship. During my last semester, I will also look for a CPT (Curricular Practical Training) or full-time job opportunity. I am hoping to stay in the US for at least 3-5 years to gain more knowledge and experience, as well as building my network connection for my future career.
How will Temple help you achieve your career plans? (e.g., faculty connections, internship opportunities, research projects, networking, etc.)?
As a Temple and Fox School student, networking is very crucial, and I have many opportunities to meet and make friends and connections with so many experts from various backgrounds from all over the world. Also, there are a lot of internships, OPT, and CPT opportunities that I can access, which will give me more help with finding a full-time job right after I graduate.
Is there anything else you would like to share about your experience so far at Temple University and being a part of the DBMD program?
I am so grateful to be able to be one of the DBMD students at Temple University. The pre-arrival webinars hosted really helped me to be aware of what is ahead and prepare as early as possible. They were also very helpful in updating about the latest regulations and any changes brought on by COVID-19. Finally, there are also some events hosted specifically for the DBMD students to learn more about US culture as well as to have fun during our studies at Temple.
