DBMD Scholarships
DBMD students receive merit-based scholarships every semester providing they maintain a 3.0 GPA. There is no separate application required; you will be considered for a scholarship when you apply and automatically every semester for the first 36 credit hours of your graduate program. Scholarship awards range from 10%-20% of tuition balance (after other scholarships and remissions are applied) based on your GPA.
Additional Funding and Financial Support
Additional funding and support may be available through the Graduate School or the school or department offering your degree. Award amounts and eligibility are determined at the college level, and most applicants are automatically considered at the time of application.
Awards are typically based on merit, need, and academic fit. Interested students should contact the department, school, or college to which you are applying for details.
Assistantships
Incoming DBMD students may also be eligible for assistantships. These positions provide students with valuable professional experience and financial support while pursuing their degrees. Assistantships may include:
- Research Assistantships, where students contribute to sponsored research projects under the supervision of a faculty supervision
- Teaching Assistantship, where students may lead discussions, support labs or studios, assist with instructional duties, or even teach courses
External Scholarships
In addition to university scholarships and assistantships, we strongly encourage prospective students to explore funding opportunities through their home universities, national scholarship programs, government agencies, or international organizations. Many countries offer financial support for students pursuing graduate study abroad, including tuition assistance, living stipends, or travel grants.
We also recommend checking with your home university’s international office or scholarship advisor to explore additional options. Planning early and applying widely can significantly expand your opportunities for funding.
Student Employment Opportunities for International Students
International students in the DBMD program may be eligible to work part-time on campus while enrolled. On-campus employment offers a way to gain professional experience, build connections, and support your studies. Positions may be available in academic departments, libraries, research centers, dining services, or administrative offices.
Before beginning any form of employment, students must consult with Temple’s Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) to ensure full compliance with visa regulations and employment eligibility requirements.
